The Community Aid Project is dedicated to improving the lives of elders and widows in Poli Ward, Arusha through comprehensive and compassionate support. Our approach goes beyond simple aid; we focus on sustainable improvements that restore dignity and safety to vulnerable members of the community.
Key initiatives include:
Building Toilets
During our monthly food distributions, we realized it was a shame to provide food to elders and widows who lacked proper sanitation. To address this, we construct safe and functional toilets, ensuring that recipients have access to basic hygiene alongside nutritional support.
Constructing Safe Homes
Many elders and widows were living in dangerous, unstable homes at risk of collapsing. One of the greatest successes of our project has been building standard, safe homes for these families. While constructing homes is challenging, we aim to expand this effort and build more safe houses in the future.
Providing Beds and Mattresses
Some elders were sleeping on the floor without proper bedding. To improve their comfort and health, we purchase beds and mattresses, ensuring they have a safe and restful place to sleep.
Monthly Food Distribution
To address food insecurity, we provide a monthly supply of staple foods, including rice, maize for ugali, cooking oil, and sugar. This ensures that families have at least one hot meal per day, improving nutrition and overall quality of life.
This project is made possible through the generous support of Andrea Greiner and her team from Austria, in collaboration with Peaceland Foundations from China.
We are proud to have launched this as one of our first community initiatives. By sharing photos and stories from our work, we aim to show the real impact of your support. We warmly welcome donors, sponsors, and partners from across the world to join us in empowering elders and widows, helping them live with safety, dignity, and health.
